Yes, but the question would be "WHY?"... VA benefits are best used to purchase your home rather than refinancing, so unless your paying mortgage insurance or you could benefit from a lower rate, it might make sense to reserve your benefits for your next home.. with VA, the lowest funding fee is charged on your first use of VA financing.. after that the fee is larger.. but without knowing all the specifics on your particular scenario, its hard to say what would be best for you.. therefore I recommend that you contact a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Do not use the local "Big" bank, or one of those 50 states internet lenders or nationwide lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Yes, if you are now eligible for a VA loan you can refinance your current Fannie Mae loan and take out a new VA loan in return.
