how many days of the year must i live in a home for it to be considered a primary residence?

FHA states a primary residence must be lived in for at least 183 days of the year.

Technically, at least 6 months out of the year AND with all the pertinent details (i.e. mailing address, work location, etc) supporting the fact. If you state it is going to be your primary then it would be considered your primary on the day of closing as long as that is your intent and you remain honest and true to the intent. If the details support your home as your primary there is really no way to argue otherwise even if you only live there 1 month out of the year.

I'm an Account Executive and I work with brokers 95% of the time but I like to answer questions on here as well. You also want to make sure your tax returns and Drivers license and things of that nature are the same address as the property that is your main residence.
