Yes, it is possible to get a loan if you are self-employed, as long as you can provide the right documentation.

Self employed borrowers are no different than a regular salary/hourly wage employee.. 2 years tax returns, are required and the lender will be looking at your AGI after expenses and deductions.. This is why the stated loan was originally developed for.. SE borrowers with business that generated large cash flow, but the owners showed very little income.. if that's your scenario, you might find it difficult to get financing.. lenders are required to verify your debt to income ratio is at or below 43% with a few exemptions..
